The European Digital Music Academy (TEDMA)

The European Digital Music Academy (TEDMA)

At TrueMotion, we all love good classical music, but we’re even more fond of organisations that want to bring much-needed innovations to the live classical music scene. Which is exactly what Stiftung Neue Musik Impulse is doing.

Since 2017, the foundation has been organising Classical Beat, a music festival that combines classical music with modern genres and digital tools to create new, exciting listening experiences and inspire younger classical music audiences.

When SNMI went looking for funding for their new Erasmus+ project, The European Digital Music Academy, or TEDMA, they reached out to us. The result? €286,601 to support the project from 2022-2024!

Over two years, TEDMA is setting up a strategic partnership among stakeholders from four European countries (Germany, the Netherlands, France, and Denmark). Together they’ll be testing and implementing a training methodology aimed at students in higher education and professionals from the live music sector. And it’s not just aimed at the musicians. The idea is to help all future professionals in the field develop their digital skills in music production, distribution, promotion, and audience engagement.

At the end of the project, trainees will have the opportunity to put their new knowledge and skills to the test by organising four live performances.
